What?!?! No Swim!!

Last night was a disappointing one - my gym has decided it wanted to rip up the road outside the gym to run new pipes / cables or something else that requires a big deep trench to be dug. This meant that the usual parking spaces are now a big crater in the ground and parking has to be found in the nearby streets.
Do they not realise I have my swim in 2 days?!?! (I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!!)
I got to my pool after work and could not find a space anywhere in sight so I had to turn around and drive home!! Gutted!!
To be honest I don't think its going to make much difference - if I'm not ready for the swim now then one more swim won't make the difference but for a confidence thing I wanted to make sure that
a) My body hadn't suddenly become made of lead
b) I do in fact remember how to move my arms to form a front crawl stroke

Ahhh well there's tonight I guess - after my gym session with Tom.
I have however woken up this morning with an alarming stabbing pain in one of my shoulders which I'm worrying about and will continue to worry about until the pain goes away or I can talk to Tom about it tonight.

I'm going to say something naughty now - and I don't want comments about 'This is your body for life, it's not worth ruining it for one race' pah!! You've obviously never trained so hard and wanted something soo badly then!!
I prefer to go by the common quote 'Pain is temporary - Pride is forever'
Nothing is going to stop me from getting into that lake on Friday afternoon - in my opinion someone could push me into the lake with a broken leg if that's what needs to happen!!
So although my shoulder hurts I'm sure I can survive an hour and a half's swim with it on Friday
Anyway - rant over!! Sorry

Now onto my eating - my daytime eating hasn't changed.
I'm still eating porridge for breakfast, apples as a snack and a chicken salad for lunch but I've been making more of an effort to eat good home cooked meals for dinner.
It's hard to keep enthusiastic about food when you're doing all the cooking for yourself even coming from someone like me who loves to cook.
At the moment I'm actually enjoying it and I'm going to try and think of lots of new and yummy meals for dinner time
Last night was a particularly nice dinner - Chicken, Butternut Squash, Rocket and Parmesan Risotto
So tasty and sooo filling

My bowls don't make it look too appetising but trust me it was delicious

Anyways - I best get back to work. I have some workpacks to get out before I'm off on Friday to act like a loony.

I'm doing sooo well on the sponsorship front so far but haven't quite met my target yet - I'm raising money for a Charity called Bliss Babies who provide specialist equipment and counselling for families of babies born too small, too sick or too soon.
If you feel this is something you'd like to support and have a wee bit of spare change I'd be very grateful if you could sponsor my efforts and help meet my target

I hope you all have a great day
